DIVINE INSURANCE
(Exodus
14:9-14)Exodus
14:9-14)
9. All the forces in Pharaoh's army – all his horses,
chariots, and charioteers – were used in the chase. The Egyptians caught up with
the people of Israel as they were camped beside the shore near Pi-hahiroth,
across from Baal-zephon.
10. As Pharaoh and his army approached, the people of Israel could see them
in the distance, marching toward them. The people began to panic, and they cried
out to the LORD for help. 11. Then they turned against Moses and complained,
"Why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness? Weren't there enough
graves for us in Egypt? Why did you make us leave? 12. Didn't we tell you to
leave us alone while we were still in Egypt? Our Egyptian slavery was far better
than dying out here in the wilderness!" 13. But Moses told the people,
"Don't be afraid. Just stand where you are and watch the LORD rescue you. The
Egyptians that you see today will never be seen again. 14. The LORD himself
will fight for you. You won't have to lift a finger in your defense!
FEAR
NOT!
“Fear not!” is
the caption of divine insurance of God that is provided to cover His children.
Where ever you come across the phrase, ‘fear not!’ in the Bible, look closely,
there is something terrifying going on that can shake the confidence of a brave
man. Example of this was the situation of Israelites when they were at the shore
of Red Sea and the Egyptian chariots and their charioteers were pursuing the
defenseless civilians that just escape the enslavement of the Egyptians.
It is at this moment of fretting that the word of encouragement comes from God
assuring His children that there is a divine insurance provision for them that
always manifest in the presence of Almighty God with them. Interpretation of
this phrase includes: Son or daughter, (as the case may be) in this situation, I
understand your frailty; but fear not because I will equip you with my
strength. In this condition that your have found yourself, I know that this is
the end of your ability but fear not, it is just the beginning of my
ability. You seemed to be lost in the bottomless pit but fear not my
stretched hands that manifest in my love will locate you and lift you up. The
enemies may be rejoicing that they had had you where they wanted you, but
because you are precious to me, fear not, the joy of enemy will be short
lived and their joy will soon turn to tears and you will have the last laugh
because I am your God.
THE
SEASON OF FEAR
We have reason
to be afraid in this season because of the general frighten situation in the
world. The person that goes to work in the morning cannot boast of coming back
to his home in the evening amidst the dangers and perils that surround the
world. The 9/11 factor is prevalent in the mind of everybody in America. One
messenger of Satan throw the evil ball in the ocean of mankind and the ripple
effect continue to destroy innocent people. The global terrorist activities
around the world in Phillipine, Kenya, Yemen and Russia are scary. USS Cole was
attack in Yemen. U.S. Embassy was bombed in Kenya. Civilian Passenger jetliners
that fly from one continent to another became instrument of war in the hand of
terrorist to attack monumental targets. International Hotels are now targets of
the terrorists. Untimely death as a result of terrorist activities and resultant
military response is more or less every day threatening fear in Israel and
Palestine. The latest devastating conventional bomb, a 21,000 pounds bomb named
Massive Ordinance Air Blast, (MOAB) that is capable of leveling everything
within its radius of one and half miles has been manufactured. Nuclear
proliferation is on the increase. Nuclear capability now has become a symbol of
strength and it
becomes the ultimate goal of every successful nations. The major problems
of the 20th
century was nuclear proliferation but the problem of the
world in 21st century is scarier because of the proliferation of chemical
and biological warfare.
The fire
incidence in the supposedly place of ‘comfort’ is alarming and it is given every
body a concern that factually, no place can be considered safe. The people that
went to the night club in Chicago and Rhode Island did not know that they were
bargaining for untimely death when they stepped in to the club. We know that
incident do occur from time to time as well as natural disasters but
notwithstanding the frequencies of these occurrence is a message to the entire
world that there is a serious need to take a divine insurance. Apart from all
these, the looming war seems to be broken the heart of everyone when the thought
of it creeps in. The fear is not about the possibility of losing the war.
Whether victory or vanquish, it will involve the souls of innocents ones, the
beloved ones that are close to our hearts. The fear is about the consequential
effect of the war that will surely create a hostile environment to the
generality of mankind, it is the fear of possibility of out break of the third
world war. It is about the ugly effect of war that will result in amputating the
able bodied men and women that will rendered completely incapacitated and made
them to become dependent to others for the rest of their lives. It is the
devastating effect of war upon the economy that is already sick before the
commencement of war. The national terror alert of a world super-power nation is
orange color which is next to the highest. People are now preparing for
possibility of chemical warfare and the possibility that the terrorist may
strike any moment in a supposedly free and safe nation. In no doubt, beloved,
this is a season of fear.
Apart from this
single factor, there are other situations that has created personal season of
fear in the heart of man. A person that was diagnosed of a deadly disease like
cancer or AIDS will of course be devastated with fear. Different situation
create different types of fear in the life of man but all these situations does
not change the ugly face of fear. And whatever may be the ugliness of the face
of our fear, it does not change the mightiness of Almighty God. Before we get to
the point of fear in our lives, if we are under the cover of divine insurance of
God, we will not have anything to be afraid of, because in every situation God
is in control.
THE
DIVINE INSURER
We may be
wondering and ask, “Who is the Divine Insurer?” Before insuring life and
property with any insurance company, you will like to know the name of the
company. You will like to know the background of the company. You will like to
know the financial strength of the company and perhaps you will like to know
some successful history of its coverage. In the case of worldly insurance
companies, you will call Bureau of good Business and you will be told all the
back ground and interesting history of the company. In the like manner, you need
to know the Divine Insurer. God Almighty is the Divine Insurer. He has other
name that was revealed for other situations. His name, God Almighty, is
deliberate in this study to point out His divine ability to deliver under any
circumstances. Talking about His capacity, He is the Creator of the whole
universe. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis
1:1) The beautiful creations are His ideas. He created man in His own image.
“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them
rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock over
all the earth, …” (Genesis 1:26) Nothing is impossible for Him to do and
nothing is difficult for Him. “And he said, ‘The things which are impossible
with men are possible with God.” (Luke 18:27) There is nothing that happens
without His knowledge. “God is greater than our heart, And knoweth all
thing.” (I John 3:20) He knew the end before the beginning and He declares
the end at the beginning. “Remember the former things of old; for I am God,
and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end
from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done,
saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.” (Isaiah 46:9-10)
The Lord knows how to deliver the godly. “The Lord knoweth how to deliver
godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to
be punished.” II Peter 2:9)
DIVINE INSURANCE
COVERS THE CHILDREN OF GOD
Every time you
come across the phrase ‘fear not’ in the Bible, God was comforting His children.
The word of comfort is for the people that are being called by His name and
certainly not for the enemy of peace or people that are daily perpetrating evil
to humanity.
People are
generally skeptical of taking insurance policy because of one factor or the
other. Perhaps the same may be your thought towards taking divine insurance
covering of Almighty God. Perhaps you are considering the importance of this
divine insurance. Or perhaps you are still contemplating whether to come under
the protective covering of Almighty God. Think of the following, brethren. Your
safety is more important that your progress. You can only progress confidently
and peacefully in a safe environment. Even if you are progressive in a hostile
environment it is likely to be difficult to enjoy your fruit of labor.
Again, one of
the greatest mistake anyone could make is to think that he has no enemy or
ignore that enemy exist. The fact that enemy had not attack you does not follow
that they are not planning evil against you. The undeniable facts about your
enemies is that whenever you begin to build they becomes angry and they are
ready to tear down everything you labor for throughout your entire life one day,
if they have the opportunity. Your enemies know the devastating effect of your
prayer; they know that your prayer can move the mighty hands of Almighty God to
your advantage, therefore when you pray to God they are angry. When enemy wants
to deal with believer, they take away the power of prayer of the believer. They
direct their barrage of attacks on you to weaken you spiritually and pre-occupy
the quality time you spend with God with other worldly activities. When they do
this, they try to break the fellowship between you and God in order to take you
out of the protective covering of God.
You only know
what is going on in the physical realm around you but your enemies knew so much
about you because they operate both in the physical and in the spiritual realm
but their knowledge and power does not, in any way, comparable with awesome
power of God. Although your future is not in the hands of enemy, however, the
enemy could spy into your future and try to mess up with your present so as to
make your future endeavors difficult to be attainable. The Creator who know the
end from the beginning, created both the physical as well as the spiritual
realm. He is in control in all the known and unknown realms in existence. One
with God is a majority. If you are on the side of God you have a win-win
situation when you encounter the wicked hands of enemy in the course of your
life, because the word of God says that “the scepter of the wicked will not
remain over the land allotted to the righteous …” (Psalm 125:3)
EVIDENCE OF HIS DIVINE COVERAGE
The following
ultimate divine deliverance was evidence of divine care and love of God that
manifest in protection of His precious people. Israelites camped at the shore of
Red Sea immediately the got out of Egypt, perhaps to rest the feet that had
traveled a long distance during the day.
(Exodus
14:9-22Exodus
14:9-22)
9. All the forces in Pharaoh's army – all his horses, chariots, and
charioteers – were used in the chase. The Egyptians caught up with the people of
Israel as they were camped beside the shore near Pi-hahiroth, across from Baal-zephon.
15. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people
to get moving! 16. Use your shepherd's staff – hold it out over the water,
and a path will open up before you through the sea. Then all the people of
Israel will walk through on dry ground. 17. Yet I will harden the hearts of
the Egyptians, and they will follow the Israelites into the sea. Then I will
receive great glory at the expense of Pharaoh and his armies, chariots, and
charioteers. 18. When I am finished with Pharaoh and his army, all Egypt
will know that I am the LORD!" 19. Then the angel of God, who had been
leading the people of Israel, moved to a position behind them, and the pillar of
cloud also moved around behind them. 20. The cloud settled between the
Israelite and Egyptian camps. As night came, the pillar of cloud turned into a
pillar of fire, lighting the Israelite camp. But the cloud became darkness to
the Egyptians, and they couldn't find the Israelites.
21. Then Moses raised his hand over the sea, and the LORD opened up a path
through the water with a strong east wind. The wind blew all that night, turning
the seabed into dry land. 22. So the people of Israel walked through the
sea on dry ground, with walls of water on each side!) Then they
lifted up their eyes and they saw the Egyptian’s finest chariot and their
charioteers pursuing them. The harmless civilian Israelites found themselves
between the vast sea and the pursuing enemies, they felt devastated. In this
desperate situation they expressed their angers and in a concerned spirit, they
spoke harshly to Moses,
“Was it because there were not graves in Egypt that you brought us to the
desert to die?” Moses encouraged the people in the
Lord and said, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you sill the deliverance of
the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see.
The Lord will fight for you: you only need to be still.” God lived to His
Holy name, and the angel of the Lord that led the Israelites moved behind them
and also the pillar of cloud moved to stand between the Egyptians and the
Israelites. The pillar of cloud provided light to the Israelites while at the
same time bring darkness upon the Egyptians so that a safe distance could be
maintained between them until the people of God will be departed into safety.
Lastly, God paved way for the Israelites and they walked on dry land in between
the wall of water in their two sides unto safety and the Egyptians that were
pursuing them were all destroyed in the sea.
DANIEL
IN THE LION DEN
The scenario in
the divine deliverance of Daniel was very complex. Wicked people conspired and
collaborated to get rid of Daniel. “Then said these men, ‘We shall not find
any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the
law of his God.” (Daniel 6:5) They first of all sponsored a decree that
would make it compulsory for every one in the kingdom of Darius to worship idol
god. Unwittingly, the king who really appreciated the leadership role that
Daniel was playing in his kingdom signed the decree into law, not knowing that
it was a scheme to get rid of Daniel because they all knew that Daniel will not
worship idol god. Daniel did not worship idol god and consequently he broke the
law in the kingdom of Darius. The wicked leaders that hatched up the plan to get
rid of Daniel now placed a demand on the implementation of the king’s law. The
king was reluctant to implement it and he determined in his heart to deliver
Daniel but the law of Medes and Persians that cannot be changed stood between
him and his good intentions. Reluctantly, the king commanded to cast Daniel into
the den of lions. The king passed the night fasting, could not sleep in the
night. (Daniel 6:16-22Daniel
6:16-22 16. So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast
him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, "Your God, whom
you serve continually, He will deliver you." 17.Then a stone was brought and
laid on the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring
and with the signets of his lords, that the purpose concerning Daniel might not
be changed. 18. Now the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting;
and no musicians were brought before him. Also his sleep went from him. 19.
Then the king arose very early in the morning and went in haste to the den of
lions. 20. And when he came to the den, he cried out with a lamenting voice
to Daniel. The king spoke, saying to Daniel, "Daniel, servant of the living God,
has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the
lions?" 21. Then Daniel said to the king, "O king, live forever! 22. My
God sent His angel and shut the lions' mouths, so that they have not hurt me,
because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong
before you.")
Perhaps we
wonder, “What exactly is the den of lions? The den of lion is a place of
destruction that your enemy wishes for you. It is the place of trap that the
enemies celebrated your down-fall and rejoiced mischievously that you have been
caught in the net of destruction they want you to be. We always wonder why the
lions did not eat up Daniel. Could it be that all the lions in the den had
constipation that day? Far from this, the lions did not see Daniel as a
dinner; rather they saw the protective anointing of God glowing round about
Daniel. The lion could not come near Daniel because he was sealed up in the
heavenly protective coverage. The king came early in the morning the following
day with expectation to see, carcass bones of Daniel but to his amazement Daniel
was alive unhurt. God proved the innocence of Daniel He also prove to the King
Darius that He is God that delivers with stretched hands.
BURNING FURNACE DELIVERANCE
The deliverance
of the three Hebrews, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego from the fiery furnace of
Nebuchadnezzar was similar to that of Daniel. It was a challenge about the
faithfulness of God in the lives of His children. Earlier on in the book of
Isaiah 43:2-3 the word of God says, “When you passest through the waters, I
will be with thee; and through he rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when
thou walkest through the fire, thou shall not be burned; neither shall the flame
kindle upon thee. For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy
Saviour: …” King Nebuchadnezzar passed a law that when the people of Babylon
heard the sound of musical instrument they should fall down and worship the
image of gold that the king set up. The enemy of these children of God went to
the king that the three Hebrews did not observe the idolatry law of the king. In
rage, the king summoned them for interrogation. They confirmed their righteous
stand and said, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before
you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve
is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But
even if he does not, we want you to know O king, that we will not serve you gods
or worship the image of gold you have set up.” (Daniel 3:16-18) In fury
rage, the king commanded that they be thrown into the burning furnace, but the
uncommon deliverance took place. God confirmed His words in the lives of the
Hebrews. He manifested His presence with them and became the fourth person with
them in the burning furnace. The king was astonished, he leapt to his feet in
amazement and asked his advisers, “Weren’t there three men that we tied up
and threw into the fire?” “Certainly,” they all responded. “Look! I see
four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed and the fourth looks
like a son of the gods.” (Daniel 3:24-25)
In the three
ultimate perilous situations the affected people experience different difficult
problems that were obviously beyond their controls. They all had one common
trait, they were all children of God and they were all delivered by the divine
intervention of God. If you are being called by the holy name of God and
you daily live according to His precepts, in the day of your despair God will
rise up to His holy name and will deliver you.
GENERAL COVERAGE –
(Psalm
91:1-16Psalm
91:1-16
1. He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in
the shadow of the Almighty. 2. I will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my
fortress, My God, in whom I trust!" 3. For it is He who delivers you
from the snare of the trapper And from the deadly pestilence.
4. He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may seek
refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark. 5. You will not be afraid
of the terror by night, Or of the arrow that flies by day; 6. Of the
pestilence that stalks in darkness, Or of the
destruction that lays waste at noon. 7. A thousand may fall at your side And
ten thousand at your right hand, {But} it shall not approach you. 8. You
will only look on with your eyes And see the recompense of the wicked.
9. For you have made the LORD, my refuge, {Even} the Most High, your
dwelling place. 10. No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near
your tent. 11. For He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard
you in all your ways. 12. They will bear you up in their hands, That you do
not strike your foot against a stone. 13. You will
tread upon the lion and cobra, The young lion and the serpent you will trample
down. 14. " Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will
set him {securely} on high, because he has known My name. 15. "He will call
upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him
and honor him. 16. "With a long life I will satisfy him And let him see My
salvation."
)
Under the divine
coverage there is a clear separation of the coverable from the uncoverable. In
the secular insurance policy, remember they asked you specific questions, like
“Are you smoking? Do you drink alcohol? Are you under prescription medicine? Do
you have an ailment?” They will ask for your health history and the health
history of your parents and your siblings whether any of them have been
diagnosed any particular ailment. The reason for this is that they want to
determine the health liability risk that they writing the insurance policy upon.
For them to do this, they want to project the cost of health liabilities they
are covering so that they will use the information to determine the premium they
will demand from you. They want to know whether the venture will be profitable
to the company or a loss.
But in the case
of divine insurance policy there is clarity of criteria, you are either
coverable or not coverable. Interestingly, whether you are under the divine
coverage or outside the coveted coverage it is your choice. If you are yet to
discover the love of God that brought salvation to mankind and you are yet to
accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, sorry, you are not covered under the divine
policy. This, of course, is the bitter truth. If you are a child of God
but you do not live according to the precepts of God, you are simply sitting on
the fence of the divine coverage and this means you provided yourself as a
target of an attack of enemy any moment. If you are a child of God that lives
according to the precepts of the law of God you are under the divine coverage.
It means that you have made the Lord Almighty God your habitation. It means you
are now dwelling in the secret place of the Most High God and you are abiding
under the shadow of Almighty.
King David was
under this divine coverage and he testified to the faithfulness of God
concerning it and said,
“I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I
trust.”’ He was speaking from experience about the protective power in the
mighty wings of Almighty God. He began to list the divine benefits under this
coverage and said:
Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror
of night nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the
darkness nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your
side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You
will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. Psalm
91:3-8
He challenged
you and me and said, “If you make the Most High you dwelling – even the Lord,
who is my refuge – then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near
your tent.”
David revealed the secret of the divine protection why harm will not befall us
and why disaster will not come near us.
For He will
command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift
you up in their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You
will tread upon the lion and the cobra: you will trample the great lion and the
serpent.” Psalm 91:11-12
The divine
coverage is anti spiritual lions and anti spiritual serpents attack. Lion is
mentioned in the passage to measure the destructive power of devouring evil
forces and serpent is mentioned to measure the accompanied devastating pains
that associated with the attack of the evil forces because the angels of the
Lord has been assigned unto you to guard you and bear you in their hands.
Love of God –
There is no scale for measuring the love of God. The love of God reflects in our
day-to-day activities with our neighbors, the desire within our heart to be in
the presence of God. “I delight to do thy will, o my God: yea, thy law is
within my heart.” (Psalm 40:8) The close criteria are the commandment of God
that we keep wholeheartedly and willingly determine whether we love God or not.
If ye love me, keep my commandments. (John 14:15) Establishing a
relationship with God which manifests in reading and meditating upon the word of
God and living according to its precept, praying fervently always. “For
whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my
brother, and sister, and mother.” (Matthew 12:5) Once the Heavenly Father is
convinced that you love Him, His eyes will always be upon you, because, “the
eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and His ears are open to their cry,”
(Psalm 34:15)
therefore deliverance is inevitable at the crossroad of your life. He shall
deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee. (Job
5:19) “And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will
preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever,
Amen.” (II Timothy 4:18)
The name of God
- God will not only deliver you, He will also honor you and set you on high
because you know His name. “The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the
righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” (Proverbs 18:10)
Knowing the name of God and understand the mystery that surround the name
will enhance the way you acknowledgement the name of the Lord. God promised
that, “With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.”
“For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.”
(Proverbs 3:2)
SPECIFIC DIVINE
COVERAGE –
SEVEN “FEAR NOTs” COVERAGE
COVERAGE OF DIVINE
BLESSING IN THE JOURNEY OF LIFE
“And the Lord appeared unto him the same night, and said, I am the God of
Abraham thy father:
fear not, for I am with thee, and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed
for my servant Abraham’s sake.” (Genesis 26:24)
God abundantly
blessed Isaac in Gerar and he became the envy of the people of Philistines
(Genesis 26:12-22) Abimelech the king of Gerar told Isaac, “Go from us because
you are too much mightier than us.” Isaac left Gerar and pitched his tenth in
the valley of Gerar. He wanted to complete the digging of well that had began
before Abraham died. The servants of Isaac found a well of spring water but the
herdsmen of Gerar, the Philistines strove with Isaac and took the well from him.
He dug another well the Philistines strove again with Isaac and took the well
from him. And lastly, he went to another place and dug another well and the
people did not strive with Isaac anymore. No doubt this unprecedented hatred and
envy could be demoralizing. Then, came the divine assurance of blessing from God
in a night vision. Isaac was covered under the divine coverage of blessing
because of the covenant of God with Abraham.
ASSURANCE COVERAGE OF
SUPPLIES IN FAMINE
“And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said; but
make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make
for thee and for thy son. For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of
meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that
the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.” (I King 17:13-14)
Judgment of God
came down upon the idolatry minded people of the kingdom of Ahab. Elijah the
servant of God was the voice of judgment upon the people. For three and half
years rain did not fall in the province of Ahab but God have a unique way of
providing for His own.
“And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning and bread and
flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.” (I King 17:6) Ravens were
the divine instrument that God used, first of all to bring bread and flesh for
Elijah in the morning and in the evening, and he drank water from the brook of
Cherith. Because of drought, the brook of Cherith dry up but the divine supply
of God did not dry, it only shifted bases. And God directed Elijah to go to the
widow of Zarephath. The widow was preparing the last meal before their death
when the man of God, Elijah got there. He asked the widow for water and a morsel
of bread and with a prophetic declaration, he prophesied upon the little supply
of the widow to sustain them through out the period of drought.
COVERAGE OF PROTECTION
IN THE TIME OF PERIL
“And he answered,
Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And
Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And
the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain
was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.” (II Kings 6:16-17)
Before God
everything are made bare, not is hidden to God Almighty. In the same manner, God
is open to His servants. The faithfulness of God and His servant always affect
the crookedness of evil man. King of Syria warred against Israel. Every secret
discussion of this king and his solders were all made bare before God and at the
same time were revealed to the servants of God who in turn inform the king of
Israel all the war plans and the logistics of enemy. King of Syria became
frustrated and began to wonder, and with confrontation, he asked his servants,
“Who among you was an informant for the Israelites?” One of his servants who is
spiritually inclined said, “None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet
that is in Israel, telleth the kind of Israel the words that thou speakest in
thy bedchamber.” King of Syria commanded to locate the place where the man
of God was, and surrounded him with Syrian soldiers. They did exactly according
to their plans. The servant of Elisha woke up in the morning and discovered that
the whole city had been besieged with the warriors of Syrians. He was
overwhelmed with fear and said to his master, “Alas, my master! How shall will
do?” God had a counter plan of protection for His own that was not known to the
enemies. When the eyes of the servant of Elisha were opened he saw the mountains
full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
COVERAGE OF STRENGTH
IN WEAKNESS
“Fear thou
not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will
strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee: yea, I will uphold thee with the right
hand of my righteousness.” (Isaiah 41:10)
When the
problems of this world become overwhelming, the common language is, “I am
tired,” “I can no longer cope anymore.” Many of us have experienced this brink
of failure. We felt like quitting as if it is the only solution to the problem.
A true defeat occurred when you quit at the peak of the trial of your life. Do
not break that relationship, instead, fix it. If your break it, it means you
quit, but if you fix it victory is on the way and the everlasting joy it will
bring will be to Almighty God, a glory. Unfortunately, what seemed to be the
brink of our failure is actually the entrance of the divine intervention of God
if we are His children and if we turn everything into His hands in prayer. At
this crossroad of our lives we are at the edge of our breakthrough and the
divine intervention of God will pave the way where there is not way and will
usher us in into our breakthroughs. Whatever may be the deplorable situations of
your life, the presence of God will make a remarkable difference, the divine
strength from above will lift you up and in the right hand of His righteousness
He will uphold you.
COVERAGE OF
COMPANIONSHIP IN TRIAL
“But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed
thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by
thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with
thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee; when thou walkest
through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon
thee. For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Savior: I gave
Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.” (Isaiah 43:1-3)
Problem is a
spiritual exercise for the children of God. As the sporting events tones the
body and strengthens the muscle for a prize or honor, the same way problems keep
you on your toes and it is also it is a spiritual mechanism that continually
remind you not to deviate from the covering of Almighty God in order that glory
of God may manifest in your victory. Without problem in the pathway of your
life, you cannot become an overcomer. Prophet Isaiah revealed this assurance
from God in his prophecy, “When you passest through the waters, I will be
with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou
walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame
kindle upon thee.” (Isaiah 43:2) David recognized this principle of life in
testimony to presence of God in the life of David he added in the Psalm,
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no
evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
David passed through the valley of shadow of death even in the shepherd field.
The lion and bear attacked the sheep, but the presence of God delivered David
from those wild animals. He safely rescued the animals from the mouths of the
wild animals. This was his launching pad faith that leapt him to victory in the
valley of Elah. The battle in the valley of Elah was not a battle of
strength, neither was it a battle of skilful usage of weapons of war; rather, it
was a battle of who is on the Lord’s side. David walked in to the valley of Elah
in the name of the Lord; in this shadow of death he did not fear Goliath, the
giant warrior of the Philistines. Goliath, the enemy of David came like flood of
water, the presence of God with David raised a standard that gave him victory
over the Philistine. The standards are the rod and staff which of course are the
sword of the spirit. They comforted David indicating his love for the law of God
but the same destroyed the enemy that trivialized it.
COVERAGE OF
OVERSHADOWING CARE
“Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? And one of them shall not fall on the
ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear ye not
therefore, year are of more value than many sparrows.” (Matthew 10:29-31)
Farthing was the
lowest unit of money in the time of Jesus Christ and the fact that two sparrow
(birds) were being sold for a farthing talk volume about the worthlessness of
the bird. Yet the scripture assured us that as worthless as this bird was, none
of it will fall to the ground without the knowledge of Almighty God. If unworthy
sparrow are cared for so much by the Heavenly Father, how much more you, the
beloved of the Father that was created in the image of God, purchased and
redeemed with the precious blood of Jesus Christ? The hairs on your head are all
numbered. This is the ultimate mystery of the care that our Father in heaven
provides for His own people. The science reveals that hair is a dead strand that
grew out of a living cell of our body, God can account of those dead strands and
recognize them in their number; imagine the care He must have for the soul and
the spirit He gave to us. The only thing we know about our hair in case of men
is to wash it, apply oil to it to make it shine or in the case of women, to perm
it or braid it to provide a beautiful background for our faces. No one can claim
the knowledge of the number of hairs he or she possesses, but God knows the
numbers of our hairs. And because the Lord hath been mindful of us, he will
bless us… (Psalm 115:12) Your father knows your needs before you open your mouth
and He is the one that can adequately meet those needs. The scripture admonished
us to cast all our cares upon God because he cares for us. (I Peter 5:7)
COVERAGE OF LIFE
BEYOND THE GRAVE
“And when I
saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying
unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and
was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell
and of death.” (Revelation 1:17-18)
John was in the
Spirit on the Lord’s day when he had a revelation in the Isle of Patmos. He was
filled with awe when he beheld the glorious splendor of the majestic presence of
the Lord God. He could not stand the brightness of the glory he fell down at his
feet as if he was dead. His personal introduction send chill all over the body
of John. But there came the comforting words ‘fear not,’ and the accompanied
assurance gives us hope that Jesus Christ, the Conqueror of death, the first and
the last who was once upon a time lived in flesh, was dead and resurrected, and
now alive for ever, that we shall one day be where He is. It was promised us in
his word,
“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told
you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I
will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am, there ye may be
also.” (John 14:2-3)
THE
COST OF DIVINE INSURANCE POLICY
The premium of
secular life insurance is forever, you will be bill monthly or yearly as the
case may be as long as the insured person lives but the premium of divine
insurance policy is free. It has been fully paid at the Cross of Calvary about
two thousand years ago when Jesus Christ, the Son of God died for the sin of
mankind on the cross. He removed the garment of rejection from us and replaced
with the garment of acceptance. He died so that we can live. He was made a
covenant for us and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to
free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in
darkness. (Isaiah 42:6-7) Jesus Christ is the evidence of love of God
towards humanity.
“For God so loved the word that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) Jesus
Christ is the image of the invisible God. All things were created by him and for
him. He is before all things and by him all things consist. Jesus Christ is our
divine connection to the Presence of God. He is our advocator, pleading our
cases before the Father. If you know the Lord Jesus Christ and if you can
follow His footsteps, salvation is sure and certain. If you truly know the
King of kings, anxiety will be a thing of past because He is there with you as a
solution to your problem. He will honor your invitation when you invite Him to
intervene in your situation. If you know the Lamb that was slain, your
sickness will be taken away because by His stripes we are healed. The
woman with the issue of blood had the knowledge of the Lord's ability and she
said in her mind,
"If I can touch the hem of His garment, I will be made whole." She
touched His garment and she received her healing. If you know the Lord, though
Satan and his fallen angels may harass you, tribulation may be terrifying, but
be of good cheer for the Lord has overcome the world. Your portion will be
counted among the victorious.
Perhaps you are
wondering how you can you obtain this divine connection, the step is easy but it
require a life-time decision. Jesus Christ said, “Verily, verily, I say unto
thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God … Verily,
verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he
cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh;
and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” (John 3:3-6) Being
born-again simply means: exchanging your sinful lifestyle for the peaceful life
that you will obtain when you decide to walk hand in hand with Jesus Christ and
continue in newness of life in righteousness and in holiness. This is how you
can enter into the divine rest of God and dwell in the most secret place of
Almighty God. Once you begin to operate in the presence of God, you are under
the coverage of the divine insurance.
