Isaiah 42:16Isaiah
42:16
16. I will lead
the blind by ways they have not known, and unfamiliar paths I
will guide them: I will turn the darkness into light before them
and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will
do; I will not forsake
We see it everyday. We experience it every time and yet we take
it for granted. He sits at alert with safety belt properly
clipped to the seat. He decides when to start the engine. He
adjusts the side mirrors to his convenient angle so that he can
see the on-coming vehicles. He checks whether the wipers are
functioning. He checks whether the doors are properly locked. He
looks at the fuel indicator and visualizes how long he would
travel before refueling. The trafficator is very close to his
hand, he flick it to the right or left at the right time to
indicate the direction of his next turn. He places his left leg
on the clutch and alternate his right leg between the
accelerator and the brake.
He now turns the steering to the left, and the vehicle moved out
of the parking lot to the service lane. His next move would be
to negotiate his entry into the fast lane. His two hands
still on the steering, he occasionally press the horn with his
thumb or make hand gestures to communicate with other road
users. His two eyes are fixed on the road but occasionally, he
glances to the left side of the mirror to see the activities of
the on-coming vehicles. To some extent, he knows the road. He
knows the bottlenecked areas of the road and knows how to
maneuver around to his advantages. It ranges from changing of
the lanes to changing of routes to avoid hold-ups, making a
split decision when necessary, observing the traffic
regulations, paying tolls, climbing the bridges, negotiating
corners until he carry his passengers to their destinations.
They called this person the 'driver'. The activities of the
driver are so vast, so complex and interwoven that at times we
wonder how he can cope.
No matter how sophisticated a vehicle may be, it cannot drive
itself. Any reasonable person cannot just occupy the driver seat
without being approved by the appropriate authorities. Apart
from this, the driver's state of the mind is another factor. At
the driver's seat, the driver is the eye of the passengers, and
the possibility of steering the vehicle to its destinations
depends on his ability to properly control the vehicle. Whenever
a passenger boards a vehicle, it is like submitting ones life to
the driver only to collect it back upon reaching his
destination. Unfortunately, the driver, being an imperfect man,
is not capable of holding on to the life of another because he
is not even sure whether he will ever get to the destination.
But there is one perfect driver who will surely take you to the
glorious destination. You can always rest on Him. You can surely
trust in His divine ability. His name is Jesus Christ.
He is at the driver seat of our lives. He is the captain of the
boat of our lives. He is the motorman of the train of our lives
and of course, he pilots the plane of our lives that will not
crash into hell fire. He has the compass of life in his hands.
He has the whole world in his hands. He is the Alpha and Omega.
He is the first and last. He is the holy one of Israel.
The prophets that came before Him told us that the Savior is
coming. John the Baptist, His forerunner said he was not worthy
to untie His shoelaces. No one else is capable to occupy the
driver’s seat of our lives. None of the apostles could step into
His shoes. They are all building around the foundation of the
truth He had established. Through His Grace we know salvation,
through His mercy our sins are forgiven and we are counted among
the elect of God. We are journey on with our Lord that is at the
driver’s seat because, He is the way, the truth and life, no one
cometh to the Father except through Him. "Do not let your hearts
be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me", He advised. "In my
Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have
told you. I am going to prepare a place for you", He
assured.

your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.
2. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I
would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place
for you.
3. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will
come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where
I am. He promised, He would bring the blind by the
way they know not. Isaiah 42:16 He will give light to them that
sit in darkness and in the shadow of death.
