Smoking Commander
Once upon a
time, there was a terrible war in a certain country. The war was so
devastating that the commander directed the soldiers at the war front to
retreat and run for safety. However, the enemy had already mounted
roadblocks, leaving them with no choice but to follow only one old road to
safety. The commander had to study the map to figure out the maneuvers and
logistics to carry them to safety.
A night before
the escape to safety day, the commander was in dire need of cigarette. He
gathered a few dried leaves and looked for a suitable wrapper, and took out
the war map and tore a portion out of it and used it to wrap the dried
leaves. The portion he tore contained the only old road that should have led
them to safety. He enjoyed the so-called cigar, but little did he know that
in the process of smoking he had inhaled the entire life of the battalion he
was commanding, because of his lust, greed and placing priority wrong. Thus
his lust for cigarette led to a tragic end for his innocent soldiers.
We are all
soldiers of Christ, and we are daily marching on to victory. I thank God for
you that your name has been written in the book of life. Glory be to God
that you are counted worthy in the presence of Almighty God. But what about
your brothers and sisters? What about your wonderful parents and finally
what about all the loved ones that are dear to you? Are they also in the
Lord? If not, don't you want them to partake in the Kingdom of our Lord
Jesus Christ and reign with Him in glory? If you love them, you must let
them know about God's love in Christ Jesus (John 3:16) You must let them
know that Jesus Christ is the only life-line over the mighty gulf that
separates life and death, through whom we can come to the Father. You must
lead them to safety through the old road found in the pages of the old Book,
the only true word of God, because you have been given the grace to be the
light in their lives.
Do you know
the size of the battalion the Lord Jesus Christ is planning to lead into
safety through you? Are you willing to count the cost? It can begin now by
reaching out for the map of salvation, even this little tract with the
powerful statement of fact. This map will lead you to the Bible that
contained that all powerful instruction thus: I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND
LIFE ... (Oh dear, where is the remaining part?) Please relax, thank God,
unlike the smoking commander, the rest can be found in the Bible. (John
14:6)
Follow the
way, cherish the truth and live the life of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the
Savior, until battalions of saints will be led to safety for the glory of
God.
