On the passenger plane and on the ship it is "welcome aboard." The conductors of NYC Subway would say, " the MTA welcomes you aboard." At JFK Arrival Hall, it is "Welcome to America." When you are introduced as a new employee in a company, they always say "welcome to the company". When you get through to America On Line there is always a resounding "welcome" for the user. From your wife or husband upon your return from work or a journey, it is "you're welcome, Honey." From your sons or daughters, it is "you're welcome, daddy or mummy."

When we depart from a place, people will bid us good-bye but when we get to our destination, people will say, "Welcome." At the end of every journey, there is a welcome waiting for us. 'Welcome' is a unique language, widely accepted and appreciated, especially when you are in a far-away country. It is household word. It comes in different dialect. It is not difficult to understand and is perhaps the first new word to understand in a new environment. A friend, on his first day in New York, was about to enter a building and somebody held the door for him and he said, "thank you" in appreciation. The person responded, "you're welcome." The friend was jolted and he said to himself, 'how did he know that I just arrive?'

There is a place, after the lonely journey, at the end of the tunnel of life, where some see a bright light, where some encounter horrible darkness, where people do not say 'good-bye'. It is there, we shall hear the last welcome. It will be unmistakably distinct, in your own native dialect. Welcome is a heavenly language and it is a language of judgment. To those who have overcome, it is a language of victory, when the Lord shall say, "Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. To those who neglect the salvation that was made free, the Lord shall pronounce His judgment and say, "Depart from me, ye curse into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and its angels", (Matthew 25:41 KJV) and of course, the Gate of Hell will bid them "welcome" to their everlasting torment. The welcome from the mouth of Satan will torch them with everlasting fire that cannot be quenched.

Where, then, do you want to spend your eternity? Where do you want to be bid your last welcome? It was not the plan of God that you should perish in Hell Fire, because Hell is for Satan and his fallen angels, not you who has been created in the image of God. That is why He provided a way for you to escape the terrible judgment, that is why He sent His only begotten Son to become a living sacrifice for your sins. His precious blood redeemed us from our sins, so that we can be justified in Him. The Bible says, "For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16 KJV) It is your own choice to receive Him as your Savior and Redeemer and be welcomed into the bosom of Abraham in the end. It is also your choice to reject Him and be welcomed by the Gate of Hell where the only known language is the language of pain and sorrow. Jesus Christ is now knocking at the door of your heart saying, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me". (Revelation 3:20 KJV) "Come unto me all ye that labor and heavy laden, I will give you rest . . ." (Matthew 11:28 KJV) If you welcome Him into your heart now, He will welcome you into His kingdom in the end. How I wish you could give Him a chance in your life before it is too late. Think about this!

Matthew 25:34-36; Matthew 14:11-44; 2 Peter 2:4-5;
Matthew 13:41-42; Hebrew 2:2-3.
