Musical Chairs
If
you've been to a teenage social party before, you will then know
something about musical chairs. It always start with a convenient
numbers of participants but the available chair would be one less
than the number of participants. A music will start the event, the
participants would danced round the chairs and abruptly, the music
will be stopped and the participants will scramble for a seat. One
person must be without a seat, and that individual will be out of
the event. One chair will also be taken out and the participants
will dance round and compete for a seat. This procedure will
continue until it will remain one chair in the center of the
gathering for the two to contend on. This is where the excitement
is. This is the peak of the fun. The two contenders want to win. It
is not the prize that matters now. Both of them want to win but only
one of the two will take the seat. The time length of the music is
indeterminable. It may stop anytime. Therefore the last two
participants do not dance far away from the chair. They keep a very
close distance to the only chair. The reflex action of
their bodies are swift, the eyes focusing on the chair, the
ear ready to communicate the stop of the music, the contending
strength of the participants ready to struggle
to seat on the chair. Therefore they position themselves
for victory and as a result they
don't stay long at the back of the chair. The grin on their
face is wide because their mouth is ready to celebrate the victory
in laughter.
And
suddenly, the music stopped. The chair creaked amidst the struggle
of the two. One sat on the chair the other did not. A winner
emerged, and a loser emerged. Obviously, the winner would be happy
and the loser sad. A fraction of a second is between winning and
loosing, as it is always a step between life and death. We only
rejoice with the winner but ironically nobody mourns with the loser,
he goes it alone. He will wish to have the rerun of the show but it
is no longer possible. The die is cast. The history has been
written. "It is only a play and nothing more than that," some people
would say. Yes, it is, and it is also a true lesson of life.
At
the highest point of your heart, there is a chair. The music of your
life is on with its sweet melody. There are two contenders desiring
to occupy this chair. Whoever occupies it is the lord of your life.
One of them came through the door, he's peaceful, loving and kind.
The other came through the window he's rude, hostile and wicked. The
first has life to give abundantly and the other came to steal and to
kill and to destroy. The first is appealing with an open hands, to
help you lift off the burden of your life, the other is luring you
with enticement to add to the burden of your life. The key to the
door that led to the precious chair is in your hand and you have an
important decision to make.
If
the music of your life suddenly stops today will you secure a seat
in the kingdom of God? Will you emerge as a winner or a loser? You
are a winner if Jesus Christ is the Lord of your life and the King
shall say to you "Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your
inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the
world." You are a loser if Satan is the lord of your life and the
King shall shut the door of His Kingdom against you and tell you
"Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared
for the devil and his angels." God did not create you to be a loser.
In fact, He wants you to win the race of your life. For this reason,
He gave you the best of Heaven. "For God so loved the world that He
gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not
perish but have eternal life." John 3:16. "Behold, I stand at the
door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will
come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." Revelation
3:20
The
Bible has the winning tips of which some are strongly recommended.
"Look (focus) unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith." If
you look unto Him you will see your sinful life and helplessness in
the mirror of God. The genuine repentance of those sins will open
the door of salvation because they that looked unto the hung bronze
snake in the wilderness were delivered. In musical chairs contest,
the winner always keep a close distance with the chair, therefore
walk in a close-knit relationship with God because they that walked
with God in obedience and in truth did not see corruption. Position
yourself in the winning strategy of God by walking in the light of
His word because His word is a lamp unto our feet. Let your first
option, your instantaneous responses, in thought, in speech and in
action be in the divine will of God. Not all that call me Lord, Lord
will see the kingdom of Heaven, except those who do the will of my
Father.
The
important things to remember are; He who endures it to the end will
be saved. The crown of righteousness is for those who finished the
race. The bosom of Abraham is reserved for the overcomers. The
mansion above is for those he found faithful in Him when He shall
come back.
