Crazy Evangelist
On
January 10, 1998 I had a dream. I was in a train. The train stopped
and people were stepping in. A madman dressed in tattered cloth,
with a wild countenance came in and sat next to me and looked at me
intently for a while. I wanted to get up immediately but I decided
to allow few minutes to elapse. In the process, he turned to me
again and smiled. "Hello!" He said. Still wondering whether to
respond or just get up. "How was your day?" He continued. "Fine." I
replied flatly. As I was gathering momentum to get up, he brought
out a book and he started preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. "Whaaat?"
I thought. I was so shocked in disbelief. The shock woke me up.
I
started thinking about this dream. I asked myself, "How can Satan
shut up his normal ability to relate with people in other secular
aspects of life but could not shut up the wisdom of God in him and
his ability to preach the word of God?" Two things I concluded, if
the children of God failed in their duties of evangelism, God can
use anyone or anything to accomplish His mission of mercy. God has
used the foolish things to confound the wise. The dream may be a way
that God is saying something to me. But you can also learn from what
He is saying to me.
In
the days of Noah, perhaps people thought he was crazy when he was
building the ark. I am sure they must have laughed at him, and
probably made jest of him. Who knows whether he told some of his
friends and acquaintances of the imminent danger of their violence
and corrupt lives. They treated him scornfully. They were all
merrying and marrying. He was not taken seriously. And then, when
they least expected, the flood came and the wicked and corrupted
people of the generation of Noah perished in the flood.
The
Bible says, "there will be terrible times in the last days. People
will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud,
abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without
love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not
lovers of good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure
rather than lovers of God - having a form of godliness but denying
its power . . ."
The
patterns of the life of wicked people do not change from generation
to generation. As it was in the generation that perished in the
forty-day-and-night rain in the time of Noah, the same is the
pattern of the life of the people that are engulfed in the
worldliness of our time because the same ruler of darkness of this
world is still ruling in their hearts. And so also will be the
pattern of their ends unless they turn away from their wickedness.
The
warning signs of the end time are on and we are witnessing the event
everyday. God is a righteous Father. He will reward the righteous
but to the wicked He will not withhold His judgment. Dear friend,
stop following the patterns of the world that leads to destruction!
You have power to change the course of your spiritual destruction by
seeking the face of Jesus Christ in repentance of your sins today.
He will deliver you from the power of darkness and bring you into
His marvelous light. He will make the permanent difference between
your eternity in Heaven or Hell Fire. He is the bridge of salvation
over the mighty gulf of hell fire to the Throne of Grace upon which
the wise men of old crossed from eternal condemnation to eternal
commendation in the bosom of Abraham.
When
the word of wisdom is coming from the a foolish mouth in evangelism
let the wise ears listen let the thoughtful minds comprehend and let
those who will not like to go with the wind of this wicked world
consider their ways.
